Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)

What Is Rhinoplasty?

Surgical method to correct the shape of the nose.

The nose is extremely important, regarding the wearer's personality and appearance. Its disadvantageous shape, size or asymmetry can cause serious psychological problems with disrupting the facial harmony.

In many cases, a Nose Job is the perfect solution for this. Accordingly, a successful Rhinoplasty can bring dramatic positive changes in the patient’s self-confidence, inner harmony, appearance, and private and social life.

A Rhinoplasty surgery is successful when the new shape of the nose is in harmony with the appearance of the face.

Performing a Nose Job is rare before 18 years of age, since the surgery can interfere with the natural development of the nasal bone-cartilage skeleton – after that, it is recommended at any age.

We undertake a thorough examination, then propose a realistic result based on the patient’s request. The harmony of the face will be significantly improved with this change, ensuring a more attractive appearance for our patient. Graphic planning with computer is available before the surgery to make plans visible.

About The Surgery

Nose Job can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia.

The incisions are hidden (excluding on the nose wings, if there are any), they are made inside the nose. After the operation, a plastic rail holds the nose in place for 5-10 days.

We insert swab into the nose to alleviate the bleeding, and help the mucous membrane to adhere. These are removed after 24-48 hours. Bending down, blowing nose, and physical work should be avoided for 2-3 weeks.

The transformation is clearly visible after plaster removal, but this is not the final form because of the swelling. The shape is mostly shown after 4-6 weeks, but final results only after 0.5-1 year, as small changes may occur.

The most common complications of Rhinoplasty are inflammation and bleeding, difficult breathing, asymmetry, and temporary loss of sensation. In case of external incisions (e.g.: nasal wing reduction) abnormal wound healing can occur. Death of skin tissues of the dorsal nose area is extremely rare.
